Another abstract. I finished this one a few weeks ago and put it away so i could view it with "fresh eyes". I decided that I like it very much and have decided to bring it out of the closet.
This work is on gallery wrap canvas with the sides painted black. The painting has been lightly textured with medium and certain areas were created with liquid acrylic mixed with pouring medium. I love the contrast of the different textures. I wanted to make the orange pop and yet keep the eye moving as a person views the work.
Over the past year and a half I have had so many people happily giving rude and rather mean comments on my abstract work that I have taken a little break. I must strive to remember that mean comments say more about the person commenting than anything else. I do, however, welcome informed criticism as it helps me grow as an artist.
