I started this painting with only colour in mind. I wanted hot vibrant colours so I dug out the yellow and blended it into some orange. I just kept adding more colours and manipulating the paint, always taking care to have a good strong composition developing. It wasn't until I was almost finished that I realized it looked like a maple leaf. Autumn is upon us here in New Brunswick and the leaves are starting to turn so maybe I was inspired by the maple leaves or maybe not. When working abstract, I just paint and allow the "inner me" to shine.
