I can't seem to stay away from the abstracts. This painting was painted in an intuitive manner where I take a deep breath and clear my mind and basically let my intuition guide me as to colour choice, focal point and content. I then put the painting away for a bit until I know how I want to finish it. I do love painting fine detail and creating depth with shading and highlights and this work has it's share of depth and detail.
Something had been bothering me quite a bit and I worked through the problem as much as I could and then I released myself from worrying and focusing on something I could not change. This painting is the result of both the sadness I felt and of the feeling of release.
This painting has hanging hardware attached and is on thin (not gallery) canvas and the sides have been painted black. If the purchaser wished, they could have the painting framed. I prefer this one as is.
