Just down the street from my studio, this historic building holds special memories for me.
Formally Germain St. Baptist Church, it has for many years been Interaction Theatre. My grandson has been a music student here for 9 years. It's been a fun, accepting and happy place of music, drama and dance for so many young people.
This painting shows the older sections which, I believe, would be called Victorian Gothic. Although I have drawn the building many times during the day, until I saw it all lit up on a Thursday evening, I never had a strong inspiration to paint it.
This painting is on a gallery canvas, with the sides being painted in the dark night colours. Hanging hardware is attached for it to be hung, as is.
