It was love at first sight when I saw The Village Store at Kellys Cross in Prince Edward Island. These old country stores are becoming a thing of the past and I am so sad to see them replaced by service station chains. In days gone by, you could buy almost anything you needed at the old stores and it was often served up with the news of the community at no extra charge.
This tile is now framed in the black custom wood frame I am using for the whole series. This enables collectors to group the little tile paintings. These tile paintings are in collections throughout North America and Europe and one even made its way to New Zealand.
